PowWow-Chat
Well... some of you probably know some Rocky-Chat Pages on the net. Then you also know that most of those pages don't work (I mean, there are chat-pages, but no one to chat with...).
Here are some of my favorite chat tools:
PowWow is an unique personal communications program for the Internet. It offers two main functions: A personal communicator, and a conferencing system.
As a personal communicator it allows you to call your friends, chat with up to seven (7) people by keyboard or voice, show a picture of yourself, send and receive files, play MS-Windows .WAV format sound files, and browse the World-Wide Web together as a group. All you need to know to communicate with another PowWow user is his or her email address (or the nick-email address). PowWow will automatically connect with them, provided PowWow is running on their computer.
In conference mode, PowWow allows you to set your computer up as a conference server and up to fifty (50) people can connect with you. You may set yourself up as a temporary conference, or a permanent conference. You may choose to be the conference moderator or you can create a full-time non-moderated conference.
PowWow runs in personal communicator and conference modes at the same time. If you are hosting a conference or connected to one, you can still talk with other people running PowWow and use all the personal communicator functions.

The Internet Personal On-line Contact
The ICQ program enables you to "dial" anyone on the net at your discretion, without having to make any prior arrangements with him or her. In fact, the recipient of the call needs only to install this program. There after, he or she will always, when on the Internet, be alerted when you are contacting him/her. The program will indicate to you, who of your list of designated frequent contacts, is logged-in at any given point in time, ready to receive Internet communications.
With ICQ you can initiate communication with anyone on the Internet at anytime, be it by text, voice, graphics, video or games. You can even send entire URLs. Messages are delivered directly to the recipient's computer, without the need for downloading. If the recipient is "logged in", he or she can respond immediately and open a direct line of communication with you. If not, your message will be saved and be made available to the recipient as soon as he or she comes on line.
No longer will you search in vain for friends or associates on the net. ICQ does the searching for you, alerting you in real time when they sign on, thus eliminating the need to conduct a directory search each time you want to communicate with a specific person.
ICQ runs in the background - taking up a minimum of memory and net resources - and allows you to work and play on other applications while keeping track of incoming messages as well as the log-in status of your Internet associates.
